The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has honored a Lagos state female Police Officer, Inspector Justina Rita Omogbai, for her commitment and acts of professionalism displayed in her duties.
The commendation was contained in a statement by the police spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Tuesday.
Adejobi said Omogbai positively represents the police in the community, especially to school children by taking personal measures to ensure they are properly dressed and safe when going to and from school at the Sabo Divisional Headquarters in Lagos State.
According to him, Omogbai’s gesture is in line with the principles of community policing and the concept of “Catching Them Young”, as a formative age adding that it is very important to train children to be law abiding and comply with regulations.
“His (Omogbai’s) lone act is reminiscent of the standard practice of Nigerian Police Traffic Officers,” Adejobi said.
Adejobi said the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, charged all officers to emulate Omogbai’s good deeds and be a shining example in their respective jurisdictions.
The IGP tasked the officials to be law abiding even as it sows the seeds of appropriate civic behavior in the minds and hearts of community members, especially the youth.
