MANILA, Philippines – The University of Perpetual Help secured semifinal berths in the NCAA Season 98 men’s and women’s beach volleyball competitions as both squads remained unbeaten in seven matches on Thursday in Subic.

The Lady Altas pair of Mary Rhose Dapol and Janine Padua moved two games closer to the elimination round after losing their first to Emilio Aguinaldo. Catherine Almazan and Monna Banares, 21-7, 21-12, and defeated Mapua’s Frances Macatangay and Raina Vergino, 21-9, 21-10, for their seventh straight win.

The men’s pair, Louie Ramirez and Jefferson Marapoc also won their seventh straight, losing first to EAC’s Joshua Pitogo and Joshua Ramilo, 21-15, 21-14, before defeating Kenneth Eslapor and Ben San Andres of Mapua, 21-16, 21 -12.

There will be no live finals tickets even if Perpetual Help eliminates elimination. The top two teams will have a double advantage to beat in the Final Four.

In the women’s competition, EAC and Letran, who hold identical records of 6-1, moved the victory away from securing the second and third semi-final berths as the Lady Generals bounced back by defeating the Lady Cardinals, 22-20, 21-16, and the San Beda Lady Red Spikers in the afternoon, 21-17, 21-14.

Chamberlaine Cunada and Lara Silva of Letran swept the two matches, defeating Kristine Dionisio and Kath Santos of San Sebastian, 21-12, 21-13.

San Beda, composed of Trisha Paras and Maxine Tayag, tightened their grip on fourth place with a 4-2 record by defeating Jessa Dorog and Wielyn Estoque of College of Saint Benilde, 21-19, 21-15, before losing to EAC in the evening. .

St. Benilde still has a chance to enter the Final Four with a 4-3 record, followed by San Sebastian (3-3), Arellano (2-5), Mapua (1-6), Lyceum (1-6). ), and Jose Rizal University which did not win.
