Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is aiming to dominate neighbors Manchester United in terms of spending after ending a six-year trophy drought by winning the Carabao Cup.
Guardiola won nine major trophies in the same period as United went long between victories, including four Premier League titles and four League Cups.

Asked if United could now start and become serious title challengers, Guardiola said with a grin: “If they spend less money, yes! That’s because they don’t spend, right?

“When I landed here, I thought that United was always there, for history, everything, and Erik did an amazing job.

Ahead of his side’s FA Cup clash against Bristol City, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said the atmosphere at the club was ‘incredible’.
