The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Taraba State, Kefas Agbu, has been declared the governor-elect by tallying the highest number of votes in the March 18 election.
MA Abdulazeez, professor and returning officer for Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the country, said Mr. Agbu polled 302,614 votes to defeat the candidate of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), Muhammad Yahaya, who scored 202,277 votes, Channels TV reported.
Mr. Agbu is a retired lieutenant colonel of the Nigerian army and a former PDP state chairman. The results were announced by INEC in Jalingo, the state capital, according to Channels.
