PDP wins Ede South, Ede North assembly seats

At Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Olayiwola Olalekan, the winner of the Ede South State Constituency seat in Osun State.

The state governorship and House of Assembly elections were held nationwide on Saturday

INEC Returning Officer Muritala Monsuru declared Mr. Olalekan the winner of Saturday’s poll after collecting votes from all wards.

Mr. Olalekan polled 14,468 votes to defeat his APC rival, Raji Sijuade, who got 5,204 votes.

PDP also won in Ede North

Also, PDP candidate, Babajide Kofoworola, won Ede North State Constituency in Osun State, according to results released by INEC.

Returning Officer, Popoola Bayode of Obafemi Awolowo University, declared Mr. Kofoworola the winner, with the most polls.

Mr. Kofoworola polled 17,530 votes to defeat his nearest rival, Abdulquadri Suleiman of APC, who polled 9,010 votes.

The Labor Party came third with 13 votes.
