ANTIPOLO-Shawn Glover showed more of what he’s capable of in the Blackwater’s comeback win over Phoenix on Friday.

Since his mediocre PBA debut last Wednesday, Glover impressed with 31 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, two steals and several blocks in a 108-105 win over the Fuel Masters.

Coach Ariel Vanguardia said he challenged Glover after his subpar rebounding effort in the loss to NLEX two days ago.

“I challenged the team and the guys to be more difficult, including Shawn. He only had five rebounds in the other game. He now has 13 but should have at least 15,” said Vanguardia.

Glover also shot better this time, going 13-of-20 from the field, including 4-of-5 from downtown, and cut down on miscues in half after turning the ball over eight times against the Road Warriors.

“We go next. [We’ll] happy to win today and be prepared, there is nothing more to do. I’m not going to be complacent and I have to stay humble,” Glover said.

Despite showing a lot of improvement, Glover aims to get better as the conference goes on.

“It’s a good win, we need to clean up some things as a team, myself included. It’s a good win for us, we bounced back from the last game, so it’s a good start for us,” Glover said.

Glover, 32, also expressed his excitement about playing with Troy Rosario, who is close to returning from injury.

“I think a guy like him will make it easier for everyone. It’s not a challenge. He will be a big part of the success of this team,” he said.
