MANILA, Philippines—Jalen Hudson has done little for TNT in the PBA Governors’ Cup.
But as for Jojo Lastimosa, Hudson can do more especially with his play.
“My challenge with Jalen that day is to have at least 10 assists in this game,” Lastimosa said after Magnolia’s 93-85 win at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
“Because if your assist ratio is high, it means that other people will open up a lot because you have a lot of opportunities to get help because the ball is in their hands,” said Lastimosa. “I don’t know how many assists Jalen had today. only five? Okay, that’s enough.”
Hudson averaged 27.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks over four games, leading Tropang Giga to a 3-1 start.
Against the Hotshots, however, Hudson had a subpar outing with 14 points on 4-of-17 shooting from the field, four rebounds and five assists.
Lastimosa ignored Hudson’s shooting struggles and stressed the importance of getting his teammates involved more.
