ANTIPOLO-After two games with Converge in the PBA Governor’s Cup, import Jamaal Franklin is feeling comfortable with the FiberXers.

After the team’s 111-109 win against the favorite Magnolia at the Ynares Antipolo Center on Saturday, Franklin took the set for the PBA in stride despite being physically on full display during the hotly-contested match.

“The adjustment has been good. It’s a little more physical than the last game, but that’s how it is. Some teams will be more physical,” Franklin said.

“It’s a good win. Our players stepped up, Alec (Stockton) played well, Justin (Arana) played well. It was a good team win, we have to keep doing this.

Unlike in the first game against Terrafirma, he had to drop 42 points, Franklin added to the squad on Sunday and only had to contribute 26 markers.

Stockton and Arana chipped in 18 and eight names en route to Converge’s third straight victory.

In the fourth quarter, when the Hotshots were closing in on the Aldin Ayo-led force, 108-105, Franklin sank a hotly contested triple to put the FiberXers up by six, 111-105, with a minute and four seconds left.

Despite the odd and bold shot, the former NBA player said he was satisfied with the effort.

“I’m comfortable with that shot. I feel like the FiberXers brought me here, so I have to take that shot but at the same time, my teammates are holding back. It’s a team game, one team and one goal.

NLEX coach Frankie Lim said there is uncertainty about how long Jonathon Simmons’ time will be in the PBA. Franklin, on the other hand, assured that won’t be the case for him and his currently undefeated Converge team.

“I’m all in. I came here to play basketball. I told the team and the management that I’m all in. I’m trying to win the game and make history for this team,” said the 31-year-old player.

“I don’t know what’s going on with Jonathon, but for me, we’re all in it and trying to win the championship,” he said.
