Parliament suspends sitting over disagreements on how to vote for Supreme Court and Ministerial nominees

The Majority also demanded that MPs from their side openly present their votes, but this was immediately shot down by the Minority who demanded that the vote be held in secret.

The Minority led by Cassiel Ato Forson strongly rejected the Majority proposal and asked the Speaker to allow MPs to vote in secret.

The Speaker after some clashes between the two sides was suspended leaving both sides to continue their engagement on the floor of the House.

The Minority side has expressed its decision not to approve the new ministers and representatives nominated and investigated by the Appointments Committee.

The nominated ministers include Member of Parliament Adansi Asokwa, KT Hammond as Minister of Trade and Industry with Member of Parliament Nhyiaeso, Dr Stephen Amoah as his deputy.

Abetifi Member of Parliament, Bryan Acheampong was also appointed Minister of Food and Agriculture.

Stephen Asamoah Boateng was appointed Minister of Leadership and Religious Affairs among others.

However, calm has been restored at home and MPs are now voting on candidates.
