Over 250 Okada riders arrested for traffic offenses

In a statement, the police said, motorcycle users who were caught violating traffic regulations and other traffic violations during the period were sensitized and conducted through some road traffic education and then warned to obey the law.

“After the introduction of the initiative, it has been observed that many riders obey traffic regulations, especially in areas where they do not jump red lights, avoid riding on pedestrian sidewalks, and face oncoming traffic,”

“The benefits of Operation PAARI are reflected in the available data on traffic accidents in the country, which show that for the first time in a long time, road traffic accidents involving motorcycles have decreased significantly.”

For the effectiveness of the operation, the police have intensified their operations and deployed special teams at traffic junctions starting in Accra.
