Lately, my hair has been struggling. Have I been constantly bleaching every last strand for the past year and a half? confident. Do I use heat tools to dry and style? yes already. It doesn’t help that the water in my place is also very hard. But what can I say? I want the look I want. I just wish I could do it without dryness and constant split ends.
I love shampoo, but lately I’m starting to get frustrated with my conditioner. When I started using it, I was so excited – it smells great, comes in a pretty bottle and is from a brand that has been on my wish list for a while. I thought maybe after constant use, I would start to remember the silk locks, but if anything, the situation worsened. Therefore, when I finished my hair recently and felt how incredibly soft it is – after-bleach! — I told the stylist I wanted exactly what he used. Now, Olaplex No. 5 is officially part of my routine!

I used to condition my hair with Olaplex, but now I really realize just how big of a difference it makes in the health and appearance of my hair. This popular conditioner is designed to repair, strengthen, nourish and hydrate hair without weighing it down, regardless of your type or texture. Chemically treated hair is great too!
The secret is in fixing the bond. It sounds important, but what does it mean? Olaplex celebrity hair dye Bianca Hillier broke down to Mane Addicts: “Everyone’s hair is made of disulfide bonds. They are connected in pairs, so think of them as ladders. This ladder is the bone inside the hair that holds it all together. As the body has bones, the foundation is like the bond in the hair.”

Hillier then explains that when the bond is broken by factors such as UV damage or heat tools, “it creates lactic acid and it starts eating away at the protein in your hair.” This leads to frizz, split ends, hair loss, etc. This is why bond repair products are important for struggling hair- and Olaplex is undeniably the best brand for bond repair!
Olaplex No. 5 is designed to be used every time you wash your hair, so there’s no need to save it just for special occasions. Start by shampooing your scalp (try shampoo No. 4!) and apply this conditioner after rinsing, focusing more on the ends of your hair. Leave it on for three minutes before rinsing it off – then it’s time to feel the difference for yourself!
