Okowa visits, condoles with families of killed security aides | The Guardian Nigeria News

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta and PDP Vice Presidential Candidate, on Friday visited and condoled with the family of a police officer killed by gunmen in Anambra.

The officers who died were Inspectors Lucky Aleh, Celestine Nwadiokwu and Jude Obuh, who were attached to the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit at the Government House, Asaba.

He was reportedly attacked and killed by gunmen at a point along Ihiala-Orlu road in Anambra while on his way to Umuahia on Friday.

Okowa commiserated with his family and wife, Mrs. Nwamaka Aleh and Mrs. Juliet Obuh from Agbor Obi and Orogodo in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area.

He also condoled with his wife, Mrs Onyeisi Nwadiokwu and the family of Nwadiokwu Owa Ekei, Ika North-East LGA of the state for the loss.

The governor prayed for the bereaved family and asked them to console them that the deceased died in active service to the nation.

He assured that the state government would continue to sympathize with them during this difficult time.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the governor was accompanied by a visiting member, representing Ika Federal Constituency, Mr. Victor Nwokolo.

Also members, representing Ika South in the State Council, Mr. Festus Okoh, Ika North East counterpart, Mr. Anthony Elekekowuri; Commissioner for Works, Mr. Noel Omodon, Information partner, Mr. Charles Aniagwu were in the delegation.
