Obi to speak on economy, security, others at Chatham House

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labor Party (LP), has been scheduled to speak Chatham HouseBritish foreign and policy think-tanks.

The event will take place on January 16, according to the event schedule on the organization’s website.

Chatham House, in a statement, tagged the event as “Nigeria Elections 2023: A vision for policy change and institutional reform.”

Mr. Obi, a former two-term governor of Anambra State, South-east Nigeria, is expected to speak on his vision for policy and governance reforms in Nigeria at the event which is expected to last an hour – between 1pm and 2pm.

The event will be hosted by Alex Vines, managing director of ethics, risk and resilience, Africa programme.

The presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has also arrived at Chatham House to talk about his big plans for the country if he is elected President in the upcoming presidential election, scheduled for February 25.

The policy think-tank institute is also expected to invite two other presidential candidates – Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP, to talk about their plans and policies ahead of the general election.

Atiku had appeared at the institute in 2018 before the 2019 election where he was the PDP candidate but lost to the incumbent, Muhammadu Buhari, then the ruling APC candidate.
