The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has sent 1,570 corps members to Bauchi State for the 2023 Batch A Stream 1 orientation training.
Alhaji Namadi Abubakar, the NYSC State Coordinator, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi on Friday.
According to him, the orientation for corps members started on January 25 and ended on February 15 at the state’s Permanent Orientation Camp, Wailo, in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state.
Abubakar explained that prospective corps members will be allowed to enter the camp only after they are certified free of COVID-19 by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
He also explained that those who test positive for COVID-19 will be isolated at the NCDC center outside the orientation camp for treatment, adding that registration will be done in just two days.
“Registration dates have been set for each prospective corps member and they are advised to adhere to the COVID-19 safety measures implemented by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and the NCDC.
“Defaulters will be sanctioned in accordance with the NYSC by-laws,” the Coordinator said.
He advises the corps members to be punctual, diligent and adhere to the acceptable dress code in the camp.
“Ignorance of the NYSC dress code will not be tolerated,” the coordinator said.
Abubakar also added that a total of 1,205 prospective corps members sent to Borno State will be oriented at the Government Girls Secondary School, Soro, also in Ganjuwa LGA.
