The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on members in Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency to stay away from the planned demonstration led by Member of Parliament, Alfred Obeng-Boateng.

An audio allegedly written by an NPP MP which has reportedly been shared on several party platforms, called on constituents and all party members especially in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency to join the MP. demonstrated to the Municipal Assembly due to lack of development.

“We want to have about 10,000 participants and we want to know how frustrated we are. It is not in the interest of Alfred Obeng-Boateng.

“If two years, since being in office, we cannot point to a single project that the municipality has done for the community except for the one that has used private finances, then we have reasons to show” said the audio.

However, the Secretary General of the party, Justin Kodua has written to the constituency through its Chairman, Kwame Asamoah who is also the chairman of the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai municipal assembly, asking NPP members to abstain from next week’s demonstration.

It is also reported that another group from the party is planning to face the troubled group led by the MP

“I have been directed by the General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua Esq to inform all party members, Polling Station Executives, Electoral Area Coordinators and Constituency Executives not to organize and participate in press conferences by these two groups so as not to tarnish the good image of our party and our government hardworking. The General Secretary asked all party leaders and committed to complete the appropriate forum to address complaints and concerns in the party.

In 2021, the MCE for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Alfred Amoah died after an accident.
