NPP Presidential Candidate, Joe Ghartey held a meeting with the staff of UMAT – Railway and Infrastructure Development School, Sekondi-Takoradi.
The meeting held on February 15 was Joe Ghartey’s first visit to the school
since he quit as Minister of Railway Development. This was during the Hope and Unity National Tour.
In the interaction, the staff of the University expressed their appreciation to the Presidential Candidate for his vision and efforts when he was the Minister of Railway Development, who oversaw the establishment of the school.
He said the establishment of the school has benefited the students and staff and also affected the economy of the surrounding community.
He stated that he was very strong and believed that he was the best person for the job. The staff also told me that they had talked to him
the title ‘Papa of the University’.
Hon Ghartey thanked for the wonderful reception stating that his vision is to build a school that will attract students from all over Africa. He said given the opportunity he would take his education to the next level and become a major foreign exchange earner.
