NPP Decides: Alan Pledges To Closely Collaborate With Clergy When Elected | Politics

Former Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon. Alan Kyerematen promised to work with clerical leaders if elected as the NPP Presidential Candidate and eventually the President of Ghana.

The seasoned politician said this at a private breakfast meeting with leaders of Ghana’s Christian community in Accra on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.

Explaining politics and religion as ‘two sides of the same coin’, at the meeting, Hon. Kyerematen said the bond between politics and religion was intertwined, adding that they were ‘two different ways of leadership’.

“Politics and religion are about leadership and followers, while politicians take care of the physical welfare of the people, clerics take care of their spiritual welfare,” the former Minister of Trade and Industry told the current clerics.

He cited the Grand Transformation Plan (GTP), which was recently launched in a national broadcast, as one of the prospects for steering the nation’s affairs towards prosperity.

“When Ghana prospers, Ghanaians will also prosper”, said the former Minister of Trade and Industry.

He promised to continue to show humility and leadership in service to the people, which has become his hallmark.

Hon. Kyerematen was accompanied by his wife, Ibu Patricia Christabel Kyerematen and their two sons.
