• Edo govt faults outburst Oshiomhole is a shame
Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, yesterday, encouraged Nigerians to stick with the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the 19 northern states are committed to ensuring victory for Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Addressing party loyalists and APC supporters at the Edo APC Presidential campaign in Benin City, Ganduje said the determination of the 19 northern states to work for the APC presidential candidate is to ensure peace and development of the state.
In his speech, former National Chairman of APC and Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, called on Edo people to support and ensure victory for APC in the state.
Oshiomhole, who described Bola Tinubu as a unifier, expressed sadness that he warned the people against supporting the opposition PDP in Edo, adding that the current governor has let the people down.
Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, described Bola Tinubu as a man committed to peace and the development of Nigeria.
Meanwhile the Edo State government has berated Oshiomhole, describing his outburst during the campaign for APC and Tinubu as a shame. A statement by Crusoe Osagie, Special Adviser, Media Project to Governor Godwin Obaseki, made available to newsmen, accused Oshiomhole of trying to sell lies in a last ditch effort to revive his dead political career.
“When Edo people reject APC and its candidate is seen because of the poor turnout at the rally and the soulless atmosphere that enveloped the compound, it is enough to tell what APC will do in next month’s general election in Edo State.
“It must be stressed that the old politics of trying to replace reality and truth with lies and falsehoods, as Oshiomhole did in his lame speech and indecent references to fix the erosion in the country, has been defeated in Edo State and across the country. Nigeria .”
According to Osagie, Oshiomhole’s political career is over and “no matter how high he jumps on the stage or how little he can annoy the crowd, people can see through his facade and recognize his inadvertent antics and lies.”
