*Nigeria needs technology to ensure security, Arase said
President Muhammadu Buhari has said that no government can solve the problems facing Nigeria, noting that it will take the combined efforts of a successful government.
Mr. President, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, spoke yesterday at the Nation State Dialogue with the theme, Security, Economy and Administration of Justice, organized by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
Mr. President reminded the lawyers that they have responsibility for the smooth running of the country.
“This is the direction to go. I want to thank you for restoring the hope of Nigerians. I want to believe that the Bar will give us the leadership we need. I hope that during the discussion, we will be able to issue a manual that will provide a guided process for the regime that will come.
“I will say that no government in this country can solve the problems of Nigeria. But when we build on the precedents set by successful governments, do not erase everything that has been done, we will with the desire to build the Nigeria of our dreams, we can choose one or two things we can do.concentrate and move.
“As a government, the results of this dialogue can be transmitted to us so that whatever resolution is reached will be part of the document that will be prepared in transit and handed over to the next government.”
Also speaking at the forum was the Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, who believed that fixing basic education in the state is one way to address security challenges in the state.
The NBA President, Yakubu Maikyau (SAN) in his remarks, expressed the need to continuously engage the government at all levels in order to generate discussions that will provide Nigerians with enough information to guide them in electing people who will occupy elective offices. in the upcoming general election.
According to him, Nigerians should be satisfied with the practical solutions proposed by those seeking elective offices to the current security, economic and political challenges confronting the country.
He added that if it is not in line with his duty to the people, he cannot allow the nation to go astray.
“As professionals who have the privilege to be given official instructions on the subject of Law, which is the instrument by which justice is given to the public, we are always called to give leadership. With justice there are people and as ministers in the temple of justice, our main calling is to serve justice.
According to Uthman Danfodio, Maikyau said that people can live without religion but they cannot live without justice.
“It means that the existence of people is directly related to the existence or injustice, and if our main calling as members of the legal profession, who serve on the Bench or Bar, is to serve justice, then it follows that our responsibility is related to the existence of our country Nigeria .
“The truth glorifies a nation, a sin, one of them is not fair, it is a disgrace to anyone! This leadership is what we owe to Nigerians,” he said.
The newly appointed Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Solomon Arase, while speaking, called for the deployment of technology to tackle insecurity.
He added that although increasing the number of security personnel is good, spreading technology is important because it is done in the developed countries of the world.
