Nigerians have suffered enough, says Peter Obi

The Labor Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said that Nigerians have suffered enough and he prays that God will hear their cries as they yearn for a more prosperous country.

Mr. Obi made the comments during an interview with journalists after casting his vote on Saturday in polling unit 19 in Agulu community of Anaocha Local Government Area of ​​​​Anambra State, South-east Nigeria.

The former Governor of Anambra, who was philosophical about his expectations of the poll results, said he will accept whatever God says.

“Results can only be determined by God, I accept whatever God tells me to do. It is God who makes all people possible; It is God who will hear and see the desires of Nigerians, especially the poor who are suffering because Nigerians have suffered enough and I believe God will hear their cries,” Mr. Obi said.

Mr. Obi voted at around 11:45 with his wife, Margaret. He describes the process as smooth, though he says he can judge the process in other parts of the country by experience.

“The process I went through is fine, I thank INEC and I want the same thing all over Nigeria because I can’t evaluate it from the end. But looking at it, I commend it, thank you, we want a free election, fair, and credible,” said the Labor Party presidential candidate.

“I came there as you can see, lined up like any other voter, waited for a while and in a short time I was able to vote.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Obi has won several polling units (PU) in Aso Rock, Abuja.

In PU 131, which is one of the surrounding units of the seat, the Labor candidate scored 17 votes to beat the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Tinubu, who got six votes.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, got three votes in the polling unit.
