Nigeria Elections: Labour Party Describes Election As ‘Disgraceful’ | Politics

Akin Osuntokun, the Director General of the Labor Party Presidential Campaign Council has called out the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over its performance in the polls.

The Presidential and National Assembly elections were held on Saturday, February 26.

He described the process as “fraudulent” while noting that “the process has been marred by irregularities.

He also said there was “selective application of the ground rules laid down by INEC itself.”

He told about this in an interview Sunday, February 26 on Channels TV.

In an earlier statement, he appealed to the electoral body not to plunge the country into a crisis that could have been avoided after the peaceful general election.

Osuntokun expressed the party’s grievances over the conduct of INEC officials in most parts of Lagos, Imo, Rivers and Delta states, where he said many party members were disenfranchised.
