The fourth time is not the charm Nick Viall …but he makes for a fun Bachelor.
Bachelor Nation first met a Wisconsin native during Andi Dorfmanseason 10 of Bachelor, which aired in 2014. After finishing as runner-up, Nick returned to Kaitlyn Bristoweseason 11 of The Bachelorette. He then made history when he finished second for the second time. When Nick and Kaitlyn had a relationship Rocky after he received a proposal from Shawn Booth, prove that they are back on good terms when they joked about the proposal that was aired on Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever! in June 2020.
“It’s like waving at someone waving at a friend… but a million times worse. TBH I remember this time of my life and I don’t have any positive memories,” he wrote via Instagram. “I just don’t think ABC will make us relive all the failed proposals tomorrow night… It’s really a season for the ages. You never know how you see things at the time. Happy to call KB a good friend!”
When Kaitlyn and Shawn called it quits in November 2018, Nick continued to perform Bachelor in Paradise season 3. After forming a connection with Just Saviano, Nick chose to leave the beach solo and fans were shocked when ABC named season 21 of the Bachelor. And when he found love with Vanessa Grimaldithey called off their engagement a few months after the 2017 finale.
Three years later, Nick reunited with some of the contestants to record an episode of the Patreon podcast.
“Apparently a children’s joke that I cringe watching again, [but] it’s good TV,” Nick said during the episode with the runner-up Raven Gates, opened up about the “sex narrative” of the show. “I’m fine with the edit, but it’s hard for me to watch it again.”
He continued: “Even with Vanessa, we can’t, but I will choose her. That I fell for. I don’t like her and I don’t regret things like that. I have a hard time letting go and being happy. I feel responsible for everybody.”
