39 out of 40 elected seats were won by CON in GE2019. The other, Hartlepool, was chosen by the Tories at the election.
The numbers here are striking despite the narrowing of LAB’s lead since the last R&W RedWall poll.
The biggest, of course, is that the LAB leader is no longer Corbyn and the Tories could very well exploit the “threat” he poses in the GE2019 campaign.
For all Starmer’s new problems are a very different proposition and the desperate way in which the Tories have attacked him in recent times shows the threat he poses.
