Rishi Sunak’s popularity has plummeted as the Government continues to be hit by controversy amid a cost-of-living crisis and a wave of strikes, a new poll revealed. An Ipsos survey for the Standard found that 32 per cent of adults believe he has what it takes to be a good Prime Minister, down ten points since November, with 43 per cent disapproving, up nine points. He has fallen behind Sir Keir Starmer, at 36 percent for having the qualities of a PM, and whose score in this question has been nudging up since the end of April.Pak Sunak has also seen the lead as “the most capable PM” evaporate, with the Labor leader now ahead. A third of the public back the Tory leader as the best person to lead the country, down from 41 percent two months ago. In contrast, Sir Keir at 39 percent, up from 35 percent.
