Hameem Nuhu Sanusi has been appointed as the 22nd Emir of Dutse.
He succeeded his father Nuhu Muhammad-Sanusi who died is at the Abuja Hospital after ruling for 28 years.
The appointment followed a selection agreed upon by the Dutse chiefs.
Three other contestants which included Galadima from Dutse, Basiru Muhammad -Sanusi, elder brother of the late emir, lost in the choice of the kings.
The election of Mr. Nuhu-Sanusi was also approved by the Emir Jigawa State Council which was approved by the governor from February 5.
Until his appointment as Emir Dutse, Mr. Nuhu Sanusi junior held the title of Dan’iyan Dutse.
The new Emir is the Managing Director of HMS Energy Limited. He worked with SMD consultancy from 2011 to 2016 as Head of Northern Region.
He was the head of business development at Bilyak Consulting from 2007 to 2011.

Born in 1979, Mr. Sanusi studied for BSc and Masters in Monash University (MUFY) Sunway College Campus, Malaysia
Jigawa State Governor Muhammad Badaru congratulated Mr. Sanusi on his appointment and wished him success and peace as Emir Dutse.
