The National Democratic Congress (NDC) says preparations are underway for the vetting of flag hopefuls scheduled for March 28-29, in Accra.
This was announced by the party’s election committee headed by Kakra Essamuah.
According to Kakra Essamuah, the vetting committee will be set to grill the four candidates on their qualifications for the position, ideology and vision for the party.
Candidates after vetting may not be in the ballot box on the day of primaries on May 13, 2023, after the committee has finished vetting.
The election committee also stated that deliberations are still underway to make arrangements for the 27 constituencies held for the opening of nominations for the parliamentary primaries.
The NDC has closed the door to file nominations for all aspirants flagbearers seeking to lead the party.
All four candidates, former President John Dramani Mahama, former Finance Minister Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, former Mayor of Kumasi, Kojo Bonsu and businessman Ernest Kwaku Kobeah have successfully filed nominations.
