NDC executives in SA have called for calm following the Minority leadership shakeup

The Chairman of the South African Council of Elders and Chairman of the Consortium of Allies, Mr. Benjamin Kofi Quashie has postulated that the change in the leadership of the NDC in Parliament is a sign that he is exposed to the vulnerability of the NPP.

He opined that, looking at the economic quagmire in Ghana, the ailing economy needs financial thinking and the leadership of the party in Parliament should reflect.

This, for him, will not lead to chaos in the party.

The Chairman of the Allied Consortium Group believes that, a house divided against itself cannot win any war, but, if the National Democratic Congress can close its ranks regardless of the change of leadership in Parliament, it can win the 2024 general election.

He said chaos, misunderstandings and conflicts are normal in any group, but he urged all party members to put aside their individual differences, come together and be ready to fight for 2024.

Speaking to Nyansa TV, Tuesday 24 January 2023 on YouTube and expressing his views on the current change of leadership in front of the NDC in Parliament, he said that “Chaos is not a bike. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb fail and cannot try again. The ladder it is real. The climb is all there is. The change in our leadership in Parliament is a sign that we are facing the vulnerability of the NPP.

He said that “Our ailing economy needs financial thinking. It will all make sense to us all soon! We have elected an executive who is fearless and based on results. The NDC will be united and ready to win the 2024 elections”, Mr. Kofi Quashie affirmed.

The Chairman of the SA NDC Council of Elders made this statement when it appeared today that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has made changes in the leadership structure of the party in Parliament with Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson replaces Haruna Iddrisu as Minority Leader.

The party informed the Speaker of Parliament in a letter dated January 23, 2023, signed by the Secretary General, Fifi Kwetey.

Among the changes, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah also replaces James Avedzi as the Deputy Minority Leader while Kwame Agbodza is now the Minority Chief Whip with Ahmed Ibrahim as the First Deputy Whip and Comfort Doyoe-Ghansah as the Second Deputy Whip.

This change in party leadership in Parliament has ruffled the feathers of some rank and file. In this background, Mr. Benjamin Kofi Quashie has charged his followers to respect the decision of the party and support the same for the 2024 victory.
