NBA All-Star Game 2023: Anthony Edwards, De’Aaron Fox and Pascal Siakam named injury replacements | NBA News

Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves, De’Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam were selected Friday by NBA commissioner Adam Silver as injury replacements for next weekend’s All-Star Game.

He will step in for the injured trio of Stephen Curry, Zion Williamson and Kevin Durant, who were traded to the Phoenix Suns on Thursday.

Since Curry, Williamson and Durant are slated to start, Joel Embiid, Ja Morant and Lauri Markkanen will move into the starting lineup.

On February 19, the game in Salt Lake City, which he lives on Sky Sportswill be a home contest for Utah Jazz forward Markkanen.

For Edwards and Fox, it was the first NBA All-Star selection, and the second for Siakam.

On the season, Edwards, 21, averaged 24.7 points, six rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game — all career highs — in his third straight campaign. He leads the NBA in steals with 96 and minutes with 2,099.

Fox, 25, has averaged 24.2 points, 6.3 assists and a career-high 4.3 rebounds. He shot 50.4 percent from the field — also a career high — and led the NBA with 128 clutch points.

Siakam, 28, made his first All-Star team in the 2019-20 season. He averaged career highs in points (25) and assists (6.2) with eight rebounds. His average of 37.5 minutes per game is a league high.

Captains LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo will pick their teams as part of the pregame festivities.
