National Cathedral: Ablakwa not satisfied with Kusi Boateng’s response to the GH¢2.6m scandal
North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has expressed his dissatisfaction with the answer to the GH¢2.6 million scandal involving the Secretary of the National Cathedral Board of Trustees, Reverend Victor Kusi Boateng.
Mr. Ablakwa in his exposé alleged that JNS Talent Center Ltd owned by Pastor Victor Kusi Boateng was paid some GH¢2.6 million to help build the National Cathedral, under the pseudonym Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.
According to him, documents in his possession show that Kwabena Adu Gyamfi is the same Reverend Victor Kusi Boateng who is still serving in the National Cathedral Council as an Executive Board Member/Director.
However, the Secretariat in a statement explained that the GH?2.6 million was a refund for JNS talent and not an illegal amount paid to the company.
The lawmaker petitioned the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate Pastor Victor Kusi Boateng.
But in response to the allegations, Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng in a statement said Mr.
“I want to assure the general public that Mr. Ablakwa’s statement is a twisted narrative of events to pursue a nefarious political agenda. There was never any criminal intent or crime committed during my dealings with the Government of Ghana or the National Cathedral.
“I look forward to the investigation (CHRAJ) when I will give my side of the matter to the Commission. Furthermore, I will also present the matter as a whole to the public without causing any prejudice that has been done. In addition, when everything is done, I will ask for compensation to Mr. Ablakwa for his deliberate defamatory statements against me,” said the founder of Power Chapel Worldwide.
Speak in Face to face on Citi TV with Umaru Sanda Amadu, the legislator was called to bluff the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral, charging him to bring the truth and stop empty threats.
“No, he is the same person, I have traced his journey, he is the same person. I have a video of Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.”
“The payment of GH¢2.6 million is doubtful, we will find out. Last week they said that if you go up, the devil will trouble you. I don’t know which one they are talking about, whether it is the mysterious ladder, the fraudulent ladder, or the corrupt ladder, I don’t know what they are talking about because this is an easy matter,” said the MP. Face to face he watches TV.
He doubted whether the trial was conducted before the country issued a diplomatic passport to Pastor Victor Kusi Boateng.
The MP said Foreign Affairs Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey would be summoned by Parliament to answer questions on the matter.
“What did you do carefully before giving him a diplomatic passport? How do you appoint someone, give him a letter of appointment as Rev.Kusi Boateng? Then when you issue a diplomatic passport to increase his work, it is another name, are you complicit? Minister of Foreign Affairs [Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey] will be summoned to Parliament to answer questions,” said Mr. Ablakwa.
