Two fixtures concluding from Nigeria Premier Soccer League(NPFL), matchday nine were played in Gombe and Jos respectively.
Both Group A matches ended in home wins for the home side as the week-long fixture failed to produce an away win.
Monday’s game was the last set of matches before the league went on a three-week break as a result of the General Election.
At the Pantami Stadium, it ended in a five-goal thriller as Mahamadou Souley’s last-minute penalty made the difference in the derby clash between Gombe United and Plateau United.
Anayor Ogbonna put the hosts in front in the 12th minute but Albert Hilary restored parity for the Peace Boys six minutes later. However, Rahman Olarewaju put Savannah Scorpions ahead in the 23rd minute as they ended the first half with a goal lead.
But it took the visitors just two minutes into the second half for Moses Adikwu to score an equalizer that left fans reeling.
When it first appeared that Plateau United had picked the second away point on the road, Mahamadou Souley converted a spot kick in the 95th minute to move the hosts to sixth position in the group while Plateau United remained in fourth position, one point behind Akwa United.
Elsewhere at the New Jos Stadium, Nasarawa United put an end to their dreadful performance with another 2-0 win over Remo Stars.

For Sky Blue Stars, it was a bad day as they are now without a win after four matches in a row.
Joshua John gave the hosts the lead in the eighth minute before Emmanuel Ogbole’s strike at the top of the first half sealed all three points for the struggling club in Jos.
With the win, Solid Miners have moved from 10th position to eighth position in the league table. Remo Star remained in fifth place, away from the final super six qualifying spot.
