When announcing her new album, the British singer-songwriter in a diary entry photographed by Annie Liebowitz said that several events at the beginning of last year changed her life, her mental health and the way she looked at music and art.
“During the month, my pregnant wife was told that she had a tumor, there was no treatment route until after the birth. Jamal my best friend, my brother, died suddenly, and I found myself in court defending my integrity and my career as a songwriter,” he wrote.
Give details about the upcoming album titled – (Decrease), Ed Sheeran revealed that his wife Cherry Seaborn had a medical scare during her pregnancy. The singer is expected to release her fifth studio album.
According to the press release, the project will be launched on May 5, at a time of monumental changes in the musician’s life, including the birth of his second daughter with his wife Cherry Seaborn last May.
“I’ve been working on Subtract for ten years, trying to make the perfect acoustic album, writing and recording hundreds of songs with a clear vision of what I think,” Sheeran wrote in a statement.
Among those events were a legal victory over a copyright infringement case over his 2017 hit single “Shape of You,” grief over the loss of his friend Jamal Edwards—who died last February at age 31—and a medical scare for his family.
