
“I was quite conscious when I was young and tried to pursue a career in music, my stepmother was against my dream… When I heard the piano then I would jump… Whenever I wanted to practice, she would say that she wouldn’t allow it. I would go and then she would gave me a heavy blow because I couldn’t do my homework,” he narrated
“They would punish me but I still find a way to sing… I love to sing, so after SHS, I started to pursue my career… so that’s where I started my reality show and I never gave up. He added
Abiana’s journey dates back a decade and more, after trying to get into several music reality TV shows. In 2013, he joined the Afro Harmony Band as a backing vocalist and in 2014, the band Hy Skuul as the lead singer before starting his music career as a solo artist in 2020.
He explained that he was better than some of the seniors who were playing, ”Because when you join a band you see some of the artist’s flaws. The flaw is a lesson for you. Staying humble helps me a lot”.
Abiana was named Best Vocal Performance at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2021. Apart from her album ‘Alemle Lala’ she also has songs like ‘Adunlei’, ‘Bo Nɔŋŋ Ni’, Shika’ and more.
