My government will restore the economy if I win the NDC polls and later presidential elections – Duffuor
Former Minister of Finance Dr Kwabena Duffuor has said that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, with him as president, will solve all economic challenges.
He said the economy will recover stronger if he wins the NDC primaries to be the flag bearer and go ahead to win the Presidential election in 2024.
He has nomination forms for the upcoming NDC presidential election for him.
Supporters and sympathizers of the former Bank of Ghana Governor gathered at the party’s national headquarters to vote for him.
The gesture came just a day after the NDC opened its nominations for the election.
Already, presumptive candidates John Dramani Mahama, former Kumasi mayor Kojo Bonsu and one Ernest Kwaku Kobeah have chosen their forms to contest the May 13 poll. They chose the form on Day 1 of the opening of nominations.
Leading Dr Duffour’s delegation to the NDC headquarters on Thursday, February 23 was the Ashanti Regional Women’s Organiser, Gloria Huze.
He was happy with the reception given by the party officials led by the Chairman of the Internal Election Committee, Kakra Essamuah, and assured that Dr Duffour will follow all the rules to submit the form.
Addressing some grassroots supporters after the form was filed in his office on Thursday, Dr Duffuor who is also a former Governor of the Bank of Ghana said that “the grassroots are the owners of the party, they are very powerful. [but] has been withdrawn on the grounds that it is nothing, I ask for your partnership, I will partner with you.
He added “our government, starting in 2025 will bring the economy back in four years.”
