Apologies to the people of Ghana – Meek Mill

American rapper Meek Mill has apologized for the controversial music video he shot at Ghana’s government headquarters, Jubilee House.

In a tweet, Meek Mill said, “I’m sorry to the public if something was disrespected. We will still push to make a connection between black people in America and Africa .. What I’m trying to do is more than a video and you should see it coming soon. I apologize to the office [of the President] also”.

They have since deleted the video.

This follows the backlash he and the Ghanaian government received in response to the video.

For example, North Tongu Member of Parliament Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said the government officials responsible for this act should be sacked.

Mr. Ablakwa described the situation as an affront to the position of the government.

Commenting on Facebook, Mr. Ablakwa said, “All those responsible for desecrating Jubilee House by Meek Mill should be fired immediately.

“How are the explicit lyrics of the lectern project of the president of Ghana positively?

“Isn’t the Ghanaian government office a high security installation?”

Civil Society Activist, Dr Steve Manteaw also shared on Facebook that “This is how cheap and cheap it is. Another first for Ghana. I shudder to think about the security implications.

The rapper has since removed the video from his social media page.

The video clip surfaced on social media on Sunday, January 8.

Meek Mill is visiting Ghana and performing at the AfroNation concert on Thursday, December 29, 2022.
