Mxolisi Dukwana elected ANC Free State chairperson



Free State Cogta MEC Mxolisi Dukwana has been elected as the provincial chairman of the African National Congress (ANC).

Dukwana, who recently became the interim provincial committee (IPC), defeated his challenger for the top position, Free State Premier Sisi Ntombela, with 346 votes. Ntombela got 306 votes.

The results of the top five ANC officials in the province were announced on Sunday afternoon.

The Dukwana faction won with a clean sweep at the 9th ANC Free State provincial conference at Imvelo Safari Lodge, outside Mangaung.

Ketso Toto Makume was elected as the provincial deputy chairman after receiving 346 votes. Makume defeated former Mangaung Mayor Thabo Manyoni, who got 307 votes.

Poleliso Motsoeneng is the new ANC provincial secretary after defeating IPC coordinator Paseka Nompondo by 349 votes. Nompondo got 303 votes.

ANC MP Dibolelo Mahlatsi was elected as the new deputy secretary of the province. He got 348 votes, while his challenger, Kenalemang Mohale, got 301.

Mathabo Leeto beat former ANC secretary general Ace Magashule’s ally Vusi Tshabalala by 346 votes for the position of provincial treasurer. Tshabalala received 304 votes.
