The Institute for Disaster and Security Emergencies Studies (ISDES) has advised the members of parliament for Tamale South and Asawase Haruna Iddrisu and Muntaka Mubarak, respectively, to call their constituents to order.
Several angry youths believed to be affiliated with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and supporters of the two lawmakers on Wednesday protested against the duo’s removal as party leaders in Parliament.
Speaking with Asaase News on Wednesday (January 25), the president of ISDES, Dr Ishmael Norman called on the security agencies to handle the situation wisely.
“I commend the Ghanaian police in Tamale South and Asawase because people are angry, maybe overboard,” he said.
“But the police must exercise professionalism to ensure they reduce tension when they arise, and I believe they will be properly briefed by the IGP,” Norman said.
