Mitchell brought the heat to Bolton, who quoted Mike Pompeo, secretary of state under Donald Trump, in his comments, when he questioned him about the comments.
“Are you going to talk about men?” asked Mitchell on “The Andrea Mitchell Report.”
Bolton, who is one of Trump’s national security advisers, sidestepped the question and decided to refer to Haley over Jeane Kirkpatrick, the former US ambassador to the UN under Ronald Reagan, in a campaign ad.
“Well, I know Jeane Kirkpatrick, too, but Nikki Haley is running as a former governor, as someone who has been elected, who has faced some tough issues in South Carolina as well as being a UN ambassador,” Mitchell replied. “I’m just wondering if you judge them differently based on their gender?”
“Of course not,” Bolton said before continuing to criticize the candidate, who was appointed ambassador by Trump.
Haley will face Trump in the Republican primary for the 2024 presidential nomination.
