Morocco’s sovereign ruler, HM King Mohammed VI has confirmed a joint bid with Portugal and Spain to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

Morocco has for the past few years made steps to host the main football tournament in the World, as it has known the goal of hosting the AFCON 2025 tournament.

They have also successfully hosted the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup and are looking to add the world’s biggest show to their list.

“I would like to announce, before this assembly, that the Kingdom of Morocco has decided, together with Spain and Portugal, to make a joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup,” HM the King said in a message during the event’s presentation. The 2022 Confederation of African Football (CAF) President’s Outstanding Achievement Award for Rulers in Kigali Rwanda.

“This joint offer, unprecedented in the history of football, will unite Africa and Europe, the northern and southern Mediterranean, and the African, Arab and Euro-Mediterranean world,” said the Authority in this message read by the Minister of National Education. , Formation and National Sports, Chakib Benmoussa.

Morocco finished fourth at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, becoming the first African team to record the feat.
