Then, the former first lady exposed one of Trump’s first lies in office: the claim that a large crowd had witnessed the inauguration.
″[T]here there aren’t many people there,” he said. “We’ve seen it, by the way!”
The former first lady’s final day in Washington was “emotional for a variety of reasons,” according to People. And he noted the lack of diversity among Trump’s guests.
“There was no variety, no color on that stage,” he told Hoda Kotb in an interview. “There is no reflection on the broader sense of America.”
When he left Washington, he finally let go of his emotions.
“When that door closed, I cried for 30 minutes, uncontrollable tears, because that’s what we’ve been doing for eight years,” he said.
