On the latest episode of the “Political Beatdown” podcast from the progressive PAC MeidasTouch, Cohen poked fun at Trump Jr.’s air quotes. about her father’s rival candidate for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination.
“Honestly, it’s sad. I mean, it really is. It’s sad,” said Cohen, a former fixer and personal attorney for Donald Trump.
“What can he say? You know, is it good to make fun of idiots? The answer is yes if Don Jr,” he continued. “I don’t know what he’s doing, I don’t know what he’s saying, you know, air quotes. Who knows what he’s talking about? This is circular, pointless because it doesn’t fit any topic.
Cohen jumps into character as father and son to imagine the exchange between them. He pretended to be the former president thanking his son for defending him, then said as himself: “God, shut it up.”
Cohen’s comments came as Trump said he would be indicted following an investigation by the Manhattan district attorney’s office into payments to porn star Stormy Daniels.
Trump last weekend suggested he would be indicted on Tuesday but so far, no arrests have been made. Cohen himself pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years behind bars for lying to Congress and for campaign finance violations to facilitate payments.
