The former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha is currently suffering from resignation from the mouthpiece of the direct political structure, “Imo Movement”.
The resignation of Hon. Meekam Mgbenwelu is linked to the Supreme Court annulment of the PDP Senatorial primaries for Imo West (Orlu zone) which produced Rt Hon Jones Onyereri as a candidate.
In his resignation letter obtained by journalists in Owerri, the state capital, Hon Meekam Mgbenwelu stated that it will be a double tragedy for the people of Imo West Senatorial district (Orlu zone) if they continue to take refuge in the former Imo political camp. governor, Hon Emeka Ihedioha after he (Ihedioha) deliberately sidelined my ‘brother’, Hon Onyereri, whom he described as the people’s choice.
According to Hon Mgbenwelu, he said ‘I cannot be part of a system that helps injustice in Orlu zone where I am from and the people of Imo, how can Ihedioha have the face to ask for the support of his people when he has. vowed not to allow us to have Senators of PDP extraction in the coming 2023 general election.
A calm but bitter Hon Meekam said, “Jones Onyereri is my brother, a beloved and trusted son of every man and woman of Orlu zone on party lines crying because of ‘this act of wickedness’ and the injustice that Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha is helping. ‘No, I can’t be with him anymore, This is a very bad behavior. I didn’t know that Ihedioha is evil, vengeful, selfish and greedy….no no, I’m done with him!, Meekam Mgbenwelu exclaimed”
It can be recalled that Hon Meekam served as Commissioner for Information Technology during Ihedioha’s administration which lasted for seven months. Mgbenwelu was appointed as the spokesperson of the Rebuild Imo Movement three months ago, the political structure of the former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Emeka Ihedioha is aiming to re-elect the sacked Governor.
He therefore promised to tackle the press at a later date to expose more of Ihedioha’s political gimmicks which are different from the vision of the PDP in Nigeria, this paper gathered.
