Meri Brown took a break this week from posting cryptic messages about her romantic status and future.
Instead, she sent a very specific and emotional message about something very personal to the Sister Wives star:
Losing his mother.
On Bonnie Ahlstrom’s 78th birthday, Meri commemorated the occasion by sharing a sweet post on her official Instagram page.
Alongside a photo of Bonnie, the 52-year-old Sister Wives star wrote, “Happy Birthday Mom!”
He continued:
“The most amazing, loving, kind, giving, selfless, Christ-centered person I’ve had the pleasure of knowing in this life. I miss talking to him, learning from him, and being inspired by his wisdom.
He then concluded as follows:
“Miss him today and always!”
Brown’s mother died in March 2021 at the age of 76.
At the time, the TLC personality shared on social media that Bonnie died “suddenly” and “too soon,” adding that “76 years and 17 days is not enough time for the world to feel the beautiful spirit of this beautiful woman.”
The tragedy clearly affected Brown on a very deep level.
“I don’t know how I’m going to live the rest of my life without him,” she continued.
“Mom, I love you more than words can express here, but I know you do.
“You are loved, you are missed, and I know you are so happy to be celebrating on the other side with dad, holding your daughter and son who left us too soon, meeting your parents, and getting to know your dad.”
Bonnie’s unexpected death was told in an episode of Sister Wives that aired in September 2022.
Describing how he remembers the day he died “very clearly and in great detail,” Brown said on air:
“You’re alone in the car and on the way to him, praying I’ll get there before it’s too late, it’s hard enough, but then calling someone you’ve missed is really painful.”
Brown made it clear at the time that his beloved parents “really enjoyed living out the last year at our b&b in Utah”, called Lizzie’s Heritage Inn.
Sister Wives cast members are also thankful for Sister Wives viewers last year.
“Many have reached out and sent messages, and thank you for that. Thank you for all the kind words and support,” he said.
“My mother is a wonderful person. Kind and giving beyond measure.
“She made everyone she met feel special, and no one left her without a hug.”
