Mehdi Hasan Trashes ‘Far-Right Loon’ Tucker Carlson Over Paul Pelosi Conspiracy

“They spent a lot of time spreading homophobic conspiracy theories that there was some secret story behind the attack,” he told fellow MSNBC host Ayman Mohyeldin on Sunday. “And they really wanted to see the body camera footage.

Now being released, the footage shows an attack on Pelosi by a hammer-wielding home invader looking for his wife, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who was the speaker of the House at the time.

An 82-year-old man was hospitalized for almost a week after suffering a fractured skull. Police said the attacker, 42-year-old David DePape, wanted to kidnap the speaker, who was not at home.

Hasan plays a supercut of Carlson demanding body camera footage.

“We are not crazy people, you lie,” Carlson ranted last year over the lack of length.

Hasan wondered if Carlson would apologize now that the tapes have been released and don’t support conspiracy theories.

“No, of course not,” he said, answering his own question. “You cannot engage in good faith with these people.”

Mohyeldin agreed, saying that the tape was finally released to appease “right-wing loons” and denying the conspiracy … it’s pointless, because he’s made a new one.

“That’s beautiful, Ayman, to be a far-right loon, to be a conspiracy theory,” Hasan concluded. “Don’t worry about evidence. Any evidence to the contrary is just part of the conspiracy.
