Meghan King would not share photos of the three children she shared with her ex-husband Jim Edmonds.
After finding herself disgusted by the way the children were recently used to “hurt their mother” in what she described as “intimidation tactics” amid a custody battle with her ex-husband, The Real Housewives of Orange County alum made an announcement about his plans for 2023 on his Instagram page.
“For 2023: I stay focused. No more showing my children’s faces. No more filters. Limits, grassroots efforts, femininity, remove and block the a-holes that disturb my page: my promise to you and me this year,” he said Meghan on Instagram on January 4, encouraged her fans and followers to read her blog to learn “why .”
And on her blog, Meghan appeared to hint at custody issues with Jim.
“The pictures of my children were used against me as an intimidation tactic recently. The thought of using pictures of my innocent children to try to hurt their mother is… I don’t know if there are words that can describe the depth of disgust that causes me,” he shared. “But I’m lucky here, I have full legal control over the use of the image and I’m going to stop it.”
“Besides, my kids are individuals,” she continues with six-year-old daughter Aspen and four-year-old twins Hayes and Hart. “When he was a baby, he felt like another extra, but now he feels unique and I’m happy to see him spread his wings. Some love the spotlight, some hate the spotlight, and those who don’t know need to think. But they’re just kids and doesn’t know what fame means, so I’ll isolate him until he’s old enough and slowly bring him back if he chooses.
After sharing the news, Meghan received support from some and criticism from others.
“We just saw your kids last week,” one person wrote, along with a crying emoji.
“You won’t be this week. Progress starts at the beginning,” Meghan replied.
Others wondered if Jim would continue to share photos of the children, as he and his wife Courtney O’Connor done at the end of last month, prompting the former RHOC star to seem to call Kortnie out on her Instagram Story saying that “nobody but immediate family [her] permission” to post pictures of their children online.
“Is your father still posting? Sorry, someone is trying to fight you! Something to do,” he wrote.
“Guess he will after seeing this post,” Meghan replied. “It’s predictability in 3, 2, 1…”
Meghan and Jim appear together in the Real Housewives of Orange County from season 10 to season 12 during the five-year marriage.
