Time magazine has named 12 “extraordinary leaders” working towards a more equal world, recognizing Cate Blanchett, Angela Bassett, Phoebe Bridgers, Quinta Brunson, soccer player Megan Rapinoe, professional boxer Ramla.
Ali, activist Ayisha Siddiqa, Iranian journalist Masih Alinejad, activist Olena Shevchenko, Suntory Beverages CEO Makiko Ono, reproductive rights activist Verónica Cruz Sánchez and Brazil’s racial equality minister Anielle Franco.
The magazine will host its second Time Women of the Year gala in Los Angeles on March 8 to honor the lineup. In addition to visits from honorees including Blanchett, Siddiqa, Bassett, Brunson, Ali, Shevchenko, and Alinejad, the evening will feature a special performance by music icon Bridgers. Along with Fiji Water as a supporting partner, P&G is a participating partner.

The 2023 Time Women of the Year lead us all to a more equal world and affect real change through their efforts and commitment to climate activism, human rights, social justice, and more,” said Time CEO Jessica Sibley.
As a strategy to divert attention from the Man of the Year franchise, which was named Person of the Year in 1999, Time began a project in 2020 to identify 100 important women of the 20th century. This effort was added to the list of Women of the Year.
