Meet Danny Lampo, a UK-based afrobeat artist making waves in Ghana and the UK
A new household name in Ghana and in the UK is Daniel Amponsah, better known as Danny Lampo – a talented Afrobeat artiste.
After a loud mainstream TV hit called “Paper” featuring the late dancehall music sensation, Sonny Balli, everyone kept asking: Who is this new guy?
Before the audience could catch their breath, he released another hit single titled “Number One” and “Baba”. New song ‘Number One’ featuring fast rising female vocalist AJ Safoa also topped charts worldwide.

Born in Italy, Danny Lampo started doing music at a young age and got his first professional song in 2018. After that he collaborated with the legendary Ghanaian dancehall artist, Sonni Balli.
He founded Lampo Dynasty, a record label based in England and continues to produce several songs with videos.
Along the line, he came to Ghana and also did some projects with some upcoming artists. He features Thiago Beezy and Hafiz on the song produced by award winning producer Brainy Beatz.
Back in England, Daddy worked on another project and released “Ebony” which became a mega-hit in the UK and the song got him featured on the BBC and various outlets.
Also featured in a movie titled “Forced” directed by Ghanaian international movie director and promoter Danny Erskine.

His contribution to the music industry in the UK is incredible, you can’t leave him out when talking about influential musicians in the diaspora.
He has won many awards in Ghana and Europe and even got his song “Ebony” nominated in the Afro pop song category this year.
He performed at the Ghana party in the park 2021 organized by Akwaaba UK where he shared the same stage with some top artists from Ghana and Nigeria such as Sarkodie, Yaw Tog, Kofi Jamah, Amerado, Darkoo, King Promise and others.

He has also worked and connected with some great Ghanaian artistes based in the UK like Reggie and Bollie, Stephanie Benson, Star Vicy and others.
Danny Lampo released a project called “Make We Enter” featuring Kwamz. The song did wonders on the global charts.
UK-based Ghanaian afrobeat, hip-hop artist performs with legendary Ghanaian dancehall artiste Samini in Leeds. He cites performing with Ghanaian dancehall music as one of his greatest achievements as an artiste.

According to him, “I have always been happy and wanted to be on the same stage as Samini since the day I started music, and this is really a dream come true.”
Danny Lampo is one of the artists from Ghana who had a great year in 2020 when he participated in almost all the big shows in the UK with some big stars including Grammy award winning artists Anthony Hamilton and Tiana Kocher.
He is currently touring several parts of Europe as a way to promote his new singles “Number One” and “Baba”
