Meet 20 Nigerian, South African housemates

On Sunday, Multichoice, organizers of the popular TV reality show Big Brother, kicked off the inaugural season of Big Brother Titans.

This year, the Big Brother franchise brought together contestants from two countries (Nigeria and South Africa), ten from each country, making it the first on the African continent.

Big Brother Titan housemates must stay in the house for ten weeks and compete for the grand prize of $100,000.

During their stay in the Big Brother house, viewers will have the privilege of deciding who stays and who gets evicted from the Big Brother house.

At the end of the show, the winner will be crowned through a popularity vote by the audience.

On the opening night, the hosts (BBNaija Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and BBMzansi host Lawrence Maleka) gave viewers an insight into what to expect on the show.

Big Brother Africa

The ninth and final edition of Big Brother Africa, also known as Big Brother Africa: Hotshots, took place in 2014.

The show was initially put on hold because the Big Brother house in Johannesburg caught fire.

Producers found and renovated a home for the season and launched a shorter season of just 63 days on October 5, 2014.

The show featured 26 housemates competing for the $300,000 grand prize.

Thirteen countries participated in the season, and Tanzanian photographer Idris Sultan won the competition.

Here are 20 new housemates.

Neck

Age: 25

Originally from KwaZulu-Natal, he lives in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He is a journalist, and Khosi claims he speaks and opens his mind. While adventurous, he also knows himself.

Yemi Cregx

Age: 30

Yemi is from Ekiti State in Nigeria but stays in Lagos. He is a model and an actor. Yemi claimed to be confident and went out.

While fiercely competitive, he is also known to wear his heart on his sleeve.

Juicy Jay

Age: 24

From the Eastern Cape in South Africa. He is a semi-pro rugby player.

He describes himself as charismatic and energetic. Juicy Jay claims he likes to mingle and party. These proud Xhosa people are fiercely competitive and enjoy life on the edge.

Olivia

Age: 22

Originally from Imo State, Nigeria. He is an aspiring actor. Olivia is a glam girl with a little bit of a wild side. Bold and courageous aspirational actor is a big dream.

Nelisa

Age: 25

Originally from the Eastern Cape, now in Johannesburg, South Africa. Melissa is dynamite in a small package.

He is energetic, wild and soft-hearted.

Blackboy

Age: 26

Blaqboi hails from Plateau State in Nigeria and lives in Jos. He is an avid content creator and filmmaker.

He describes himself as cool, calm, and level-headed. He’s also charming, funny, and confident, and he claims to be street smart.

Lawyer

Age: 24

From Hillbrow, Johannesburg, South Africa, She is a content creator and model.

Email is fearless and street smart, with a cheeky streak. He has no problem with what other people think of him.

He claims to love to party and devote himself to the bachelor lifestyle.

Nana

Age: 22

Originally from Kaduna State, Nigeria. He is an entrepreneur.

While gentle, Nana does not conform to social norms. He was blushing, but maybe the water was still deep.

Originally from the North West, he currently resides in the Gauteng province of South Africa.

He is a law student. Ipeleng has a sense of humor and shyness. He is close to his parents and respects them.

Marvin

Age: 28

Originally from Port Harcourt, Nigeria, now in Texas, USA. She is a chemical engineer and a fitness model. Marvin is a charismatic man who comes from humble beginnings.

Good-natured adventurers are protective of their loved ones. She said he was a funny boy with a wit and humor to match.

Originally from Soweto, he currently lives in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He is a sports data analyst. Thabang is a go-getter who knows his game. He describes himself as loud, charming, and level-headed; he is also in touch with his emotions.

He hails from Abia State in Nigeria and resides in Lagos. She is an aspiring model and actor.
