Mark Ruffalo Rips Joe Rogan For Trump ICE Criticism

Actor Mark Ruffalo shared a pointed message for Joe Rogan after the podcaster slammed President Donald Trump last week over his “insane” ICE raids.

“Dear @joerogan. It’s a little late now to pretend like project 2025 didn’t exist and wasn’t the play book all along,” the actor, a known Trump critic, wrote Sunday on the Instagram-owned social platform Threads. “You are either not that smart or not that dumb. It’s hard to tell at this point.”

Project 2025, a nearly 1,000-page manifesto written by the conservative Heritage Foundation prior to the 2024 election, laid out a series of policies and initiatives for a Republican president to dismantle and reshape the federal government.

Ruffalo was responding to a post from the progressive news site The Tennessee Holler, which bashed Rogan for endorsing Trump in the 2024 election.

“You were warned repeatedly, yet you helped get him elected and helped let this happen,” read the outlet’s post, tagging Rogan. “It’s good that you’re speaking up, but please be honest with yourself about the role you played here.”

Rogan took aim at Trump for targeting migrant workers for deportation during a July 2 episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast.

“Not cartel members, not gang members, not drug dealers,” Rogan said. “Just construction workers. Showing up in construction sites, raiding them. Gardeners. Like, really?”

Representatives for Rogan and Ruffalo didn’t immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.

Trump repeatedly promised to deport violent criminals during his 2024 election campaign, but data shows the Trump administration has arrested numerous immigrants who have no such record.

Last month, Ruffalo called out supporters of Trump’s immigration policies on social media.

“You want to get rid of the people who are picking your food, without a care in the world for who is poisoning your bodies with chemicals that aren’t ever meant to be in nature,” he wrote. “You want to drive out those who make your life easier but not question those who dull your minds with lies and disinformation meant to confuse you and destroy brotherly and sisterly love for us here?

Ruffalo added: “[You’re] pointing your guns in the wrong direction.”
