Historically, the vague subgenre of “shock rock” has been owned by artists like Ozzy Osbourne and Alice Cooper, who engaged in provocative antics on stage, but were actually decent people.
Marilyn Manson does not fall into that category.
Manson has been accused of sexual assault and harassment by many women, and now he has started a long, expensive process to buy his way out of trouble.
Some of the most shocking allegations come from Game of Thrones actress Esmé Bianco, who dated Manson in 2011.

In April 2021, Bianco became Manson’s first accuser to file a civil suit for sexual assault.
According to a recent report from people magazine, Manson and Bianco have now settled the case out of court for an undisclosed amount.
“Ms. Bianco has agreed to resolve her claims against Brian Warner and Marilyn Manson Records, Inc. in order to continue with her life and career,” read a statement from the actress’ legal team.

“Ms. Bianco has agreed to settle his lawsuit against Brian Warner and Marilyn Manson Records, Inc.
Bianco previously leveled allegations of physical and psychological abuse against Manson – whose real name is Brian Warner – and opened the way for several other women to make similar claims.
“On one occasion, Mr. Warner gave chase [Bianco] around the apartment with an axe, punching holes in the walls,” the lawyer said in a press release.

“On another occasion, Mr. Warner cut Ms. Bianco with a Nazi knife during sex, without her consent, and photographed the cuts on her body,”
“For so far my abuser has gone unchecked, enabled by money, fame and the industry that has become blind,” Bianco wrote in a statement to People.
“Although many women have the courage to speak out against Marilyn Manson, many survivors remain silent, and some of their voices will never be heard,” she continued.

“My hope is that by raising mine, I will help Brian Warner stop ruining his life again and empower other victims to seek a little justice.”
“To be clear, this lawsuit was only filed after my client refused to be swayed by Ms. Bianco and her attorneys and presented with troubling financial demands based on conduct that never occurred,” Manson’s attorney wrote at the time.
“We will vigorously defend these allegations in court and are confident that we will prevail.”

After Bianco’s confession, several other women accused Manson of abuse, including his ex-fiancée, actress Evan Rachel Wood.
Manson began to claim that his accusers had launched a conspiracy against him with the aim of destroying his career.
