
He was arraigned in a Magistrate Court sitting in Akure, the state capital, presided over by Tope Aladejana where he pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.
According to pulse.ng, Olaitan who is a professional sex worker told the court that after having sex with her, Oni collected N80,000 from her by promising to transfer the money in addition to the N15,000 fee into her account.
“That you, Samuel Oni, and others in March 2023, at Alagbaka, Akure, within the jurisdiction of this honorable court, you conspired to commit a criminal offense by (sic) stealing the sum of one hundred and twenty thousand naira from Mrs. Blessing Olaitan , thereby committing an offense contrary to and punishable under Section 516 of the Penal Code Cap 37, Vol 1 Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
“If you, Samuel Oni, on March 1, 2023, at Alagbaka, Akure, within the jurisdiction of this honorable court, stole the sum of one hundred and twenty thousand naira from Mrs. Blessing Olaitan, then committed an offense contrary to Section 383. and punishable under Section 390 of the Criminal Code Chapter 37, Vol 1 Law of Ondo State, 2006,” the charge sheet as quoted from the news site.
The court granted Oni bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and then adjourned the case to Monday, April 17, 2023.
